No news....

No new updates to post about. We were on our way to the oncologist last Thursday when the hose to the transmission ruptured, pushed all the transmission fluid out and in the process, damaged the transmission. We missed the appointment, and won't have another for a few weeks. Bryce has been doing pretty good, thankfully!

Just wanted to share some new pictures of the kids.

Pulmonologist apt.

Bryce met with the pulmonologist today. Not really sure what will come from it. The appointment was over 2 hours long, and all we did was discussed his history in detail. She said that as usual, he has several of the symptoms of Cystic Fibrosis, some of them being top indicators....but then he doesn't have others. The sweat test that was done here was still within normal limits at 35. Anything over 40 is probably positive diagnosis. So, she still wants to retest him in Oakland. In the mean time, she's added daily doses of steroids to his list of daily meds that he's already taking....which we're really not happy about. On top of that, she's changed his inhaler/nebulizer meds, and wants him on it for 4 weeks, which is when we see her again. She's ordered other labs to be done, as well as some stool and urine studies...which will also help rule/confirm cystic fibrosis. depending on those results, and the results from the steroids, we'll know what other tests will need to be done in Oakland at the time the sweat test is done. Feel like we're all just grasping.
Thankfully, tonight he seems to be feeling good. Clinging to that.
Thanks as always for the prayers.

Having his sweat test done. 07/09/2013

Bryce had his sweat test done today in Reno. After rushing to get it done, we found out that the doctor is on vacation, so it won't be read for a couple days. Hopefully it will be read and we'll get the results on Thursday. On Friday he goes to the pulmonologist from Oakland. So, things are moving. Just slowly.
Will update more when we get some more answers or plans.
Thanks for the prayers today.

Oh, and for those of you praying for the fires. The newest update is that the fire is now over 25,000 acres, and last I heard was 25% contained. It's still pretty erratic, burning in all directions....but they seem to be making some headway. Feeling extra thankful for the amazing teams of firemen who have been stretched thin to keep our community's safe.

Prayers for our firemen.

Our little community could use a lot of prayers right now. Prayers for safety of our firemen fighting these fires around our valley and for the people who's homes are near the fire. Prayers for rain, cool temps, no wind, and no more lightening. This particular fire started yesterday after a thunderstorm with lightning rolled through. The first couple pictures were taken from our kitchen window. The fire quickly grew from 50 acres to 2000 acres, and has now crested the mountain and burning down both sides. The last two show our little hospital, with the fire on the ridge above it.
